Instructions:
Stem, rinse and drain blueberries if fresh. Place blueberries, sugar and water in a 2-quart saucepan. Over medium-high heat, bring to a boil reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring several times. Remove from heat. Cool to room temperature.
Pour into a 1-quart jar. Add vodka, lemon peel, cinnamon stick and vanilla. Cover top with plastic wrap and cap tightly with a lid. Let stand at room temperature for 10 days, turning over once a day. Remove lemon peel and cinnamon stick. Cover jar and let stand in a cool, dry place for 4 weeks.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth bottle and cap.
Packaging Suggestions: Store the liqueur in an attractive quart bottle and embellish with a cloth ruffle.
