Place chips in a small saucepan. Melt over very low heat. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat.
Stir in chow mein noodles and, if using, nuts until coated. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Chill 15 minutes or until firm. Remove from refrigerator.
Store loosely covered in a cool place.
NOTE: For variety, use butterscotch or peanut butter chips in place of the chocolate chips.
