Heat oven to 350° F. Combine meat and remaining ingredients roll into balls about walnut-size. Place in 9 x 13-inch baking dish and cover. Bake for 45 minutes. Prepare the following sauce.
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
*In a medium-size saucepan, combine reserved pineapple syrup, pineapple juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, soy sauce, and salt. Bring to a boil and stir with a whisk for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened. Add pepper strips and onion simmer for 2 minutes. Add pineapple tidbits and remove from heat. Pour sauce over meatballs. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes or until sauce is hot and bubbly.
