1 In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
2 Add the tomatoes and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 30 minutes.
3 Cut the core from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into thin strips.
4 Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the cabbage and cook until 1 minute after the water returns to the boil. Scoop out the cabbage with a slotted spoon. Drain well. Reserve the cooking water.
5 Remove the sausages to a cutting board, leaving the sauce in the pan. Add the cabbage to the sauce cook 15 minutes. Slice the sausage thin.
6 Return the water to a boil and cook the pasta with salt to taste. Drain well and toss with the sausage and the sauce. Serve hot.
