1. Place 8 cups of water and the salt in a large saucepan, and bring to a boil.
2. While the water is coming to a boil, remove the tough outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into 8 wedges, but do not remove the core. Set aside.
3. Place the bacon in a large skillet, and cook over medium heat until crisp. Add the stuffing mix and cheese and continue cooking and stirring for about 3 minutes, or until the stuffing is brown and crisp. Keep warm.
4. Place the cabbage wedges in the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes, or until tender.
5. Drain the cabbage and arrange the wedges on a platter. Top with the hot stuffing mixture.
