Buttertart Squares

Ingredients

FIRST LAYER
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
6 tablespoons soft butter
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup ground nuts
TOPPING
1 egg
2/3 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup shredded coconut
3/4 cup chopped nuts (I use walnuts, but any nut is fine)

Directions:

Combine all first layer ingredients, mix well and press into the bottom of a 9 inch pan. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes, remove from oven and add the topping. (While the bottom is baking, start working on the top part). Combine topping ingredients, mix well and pour over the hot crust. Bake again @350 for 25-30 minutes. The top should be a bit jiggly when you take it out of the oven.
