Melt together the butter, cocoa, and water. Beat together the egg, vanilla, and buttermilk and add it to the mixture. Add the agave, flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix all the ingredients until well blended. Pour batter into a nonstick 8X8 pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. The cake should not jiggle when you test it. If it does – it is not quite ready to come out of the oven. Top with cream cheese frosting from the cream cheese avocado frosting recipe. Omit the avocado in the frosting for this cake.
