In a bowl, stir together baking mix, milk and egg until just blended. Stir in corn; season with pepper. Let batter stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Drop batter into oil with a large spoon. Cook until golden; turn and cook one minute on the other side. Drain on paper towels. Serve drizzled with a little honey.
