Venison North Idaho

Ingredients

2 venison steaks, thick loin
1/2 clove garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
1/2 bay leaf
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons currant or apple jelly
1/4 cup dry sherry
1/2 cup thick cream

Directions:

Rub the surface of steak gently with the garlic. Heat olive oil and butter until sizzling in frying pan, and sauté steaks quickly in this until both sides are brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Combine rest of ingredients and pour over steaks. Bake in 350° oven for 70 minutes.
