Imagine our distress when we found our Thanksgiving wild turkey, brought home from the locker plant still wrapped, had been skinned rather than picked. The only thing we had to wrap the bare bird in was a clean old T-shirt.
The bird was salted, peppered and stuffed with the chopped onion and celery. The T-shirt was dampened and dipped in melted butter. We clothed the turkey in the T-shirt and cooked it in a 325° oven for 2 1/2 hours. It was the best wild turkey ever.
