Yield: 1 banana split

Ingredients

1 banana
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1 scoop chocolate ice cream
1 scoop strawberry ice cream
2 ounces crushed pineapple
2 ounces chocolate syrup
2 ounces strawberry ice cream topping
whipped cream for garnish
chopped mixed nuts for garnish
shaved chocolate bark for garnish
3 stemmed sweet cherries for garnish
2 Nabisco vanilla wafers

Directions:

Split banana lengthwise and place halves parallel on a Banana Split dish. Place vanilla ice cream between the banana halves. To the left of the vanilla place chocolate ice cream, and to the right place strawberry ice cream. Ladle pineapple over vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup over chocolate ice cream, and strawberry topping over strawberry ice cream.

Garnish with whipped cream. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and chocolate shavings. Place 3 stemmed cherries at top and arrange wafers at either end. Serve with a long-handled spoon.

Fun Fact: Using 33,000 bananas, 2,500 gallons of ice cream, 600 pounds of nuts, and lots of other toppings, the world’s longest banana split was created in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, in 1988. The treat measured 4.55 miles long and is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
