In a large bowl, mix well, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add beer, cheese, and pepper. Pour batter into a greased 10” Dutch oven. Cover and bake at about 350°F for 1 hour, or until you can smell it. Butter the top of the loaf while it is still warm, and serve warm.
