You're likely to find a choice of ground beef in the supermarket from regular to diet to extra-lean. Even if you choose the leanest cut available (weighing in at about 8 percent fat), you can still shed some extra fat with these quick tips.
Cook ground beef in a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray. After cooking, spoon cooked beef into a colander to drain off the fat.
If you want to get rid of even more fat, after draining cooked beef, press it between several layers of paper towels. Wipe out the skilled with a paper towel if you are adding other ingredients back into the skillet.
