1. Place the oatmeal and olive oil in a small bowl, and stir to form a paste.
2. Drizzle the hot water into the oatmeal paste, stirring as you do to combine thoroughly.
3. Allow the mixture to cool. Then pour it through muslin or a double layer of cheesecloth into a small bowl. Squeeze the cloth to extract all the liquid. Then discard the cloth and its contents.
4. To use, gently massage the liquid onto your face, paying particular attention to any dry areas that need softening. Also apply to rough spots on elbows, knees, and heels. Allow the mixture to soak in for at least 30 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
5. Apply 2 or 3 times a day, as needed. Make the mixture fresh each day.
