In a large bowl, mix water, sugar, yeast, and instant potato flakes together. Let stand 5 minutes. Mix in flour, dry milk, oil, and salt. Knead or mix in heavy-duty standing mixer 5–10 minutes.
Press dough into a greased 81/2 x 41/2-inch bread pan. Cover and let rise 40–45 minutes in a draft-free area.
Bake at 375 degrees 25 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil and bake an additional 12–18 minutes. Slice warm bread and serve with honey butter. Makes 6–8 servings.
* At altitudes above 3,500—6,500 feet, decrease sugar and yeast each by 1/4 teaspoon.
