Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
With an electric mixer, mix cake mix, eggs, butter, water, and potatoes together 2–3 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 30–35 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and chocolate chips into milk, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar. Drizzle glaze over warm cake. Makes 16–20 servings.
