Pour the beer into a heavy-duty foil pan and set over Indirect Medium heat. Grill the bratwurst over Direct Medium heat (on either side of the pan) until lightly browned, 6 to 8 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling time. Transfer the brats to the pan of beer, cover with foil and grill for 25 minutes more. Serve the brats on the buns or rolls with your favorite condiments.
