In medium saucepan melt butter (or margarine), saute onion, then stir in flour until blended. Add milk cook and stir until mixture is smooth and thick. Season to taste. Stir in tuna and heat. Serve over crackers, toast, cooked rice, baked potato, or parsleyed noodles. Makes 4 servings.
Note: Pimiento, sauteed green pepper, and mushrooms may be added to mixture as desired.
Variation
Creamed Chipped (or Dried) Beef: Make white sauce as above, omitting salt. Use 1 jar (4 1/2 ounces) chipped or dried beef in place of tuna tear beef into bite-size pieces.
