Melt butter and add garlic in a 5-inch Dutch oven. Open a couple packages of biscuits at a time and butter one side of a biscuit. Start each biscuit on it's side around the outside edge of the inside of the Dutch oven. When you complete the ring, start another next to the first, continuing to the center. Repeat with a second layer on top of the first layer, buttering each biscuit as you go. When you finish, you should have just a few biscuits that you can throw on the top of the second layer.
Bake at 375°F for about 30 minutes. Use 11 coals under the Dutch oven and 17 on the lid. This gives you a little less than 375°F but cooks the biscuits real nice.
