Mix ingredients in order given. Blend; beat with electric mixer, medium speed, for 2 minutes. Bake at 325° in 3 (8-inch) greased and floured pans for 20-25 minutes, or at 350° in 9x13-inch pan for 28-36 minutes. When cool, spread with the icing.
Icing:
Mix crushed pineapple and instant pudding. Fold in the topping and salt; spread over cake. Store cake in refrigerator.
