Combine broccoli and grapes. Mix mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar. Add to broccoli and toss. Chill. Before serving, add bacon and sunflower nuts. Toss well.
Note: May substitute chopped pecans for sunflower nuts, or raisins for grapes.
Fun Fact: Apple cider was a highly popular early American beverage. Cider is made by pressing the juice from fruit (usually apples). Referred to as “sweet” cider, it can be drunk straight or diluted with water. If allowed to ferment, it becomes “hard” cider, and can range widely in alcohol content. Apple cider is also used to make vinegar and brandy.
