Chunky Meat Stew

Ingredients

5 slices bacon
1/2 pound Italian sausage, sliced
1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat, diced
1 cup chopped onion
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
2 pickled jalapeño peppers, rinsed, seeded, and chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon oregano
2 1/2 cups water
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
1 (15 1/2-ounce) can pinto bean

Directions:

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble. Brown sausage. Reserve 2 tablespoons drippings. Brown beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic. Add bacon, sausage, jalapeños, chili powder, red pepper, salt, and oregano. Stir in water and tomato paste. Bring to a boil. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Stir in beans. Simmer 30 minutes.
