Place potatoes in large pot and cover with water. Boil 20–25 minutes, or until tender. Drain, then run cold water over potatoes. Once potatoes are cooled, cut into cubes.
In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, green onion, and ranch mix. Gently stir in potatoes. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Just before serving, stir in crumbled bacon. Makes 10–12 servings.
