1. Cut the squash in half and remove the seeds and stringy fibers with a tablespoon.
2. Add 1/4 inch water to a baking pan, then place the squash halves cut-side down in the pan. Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 30 minutes.
3. Remove the pan from the oven and turn the squash halves right-side up. Drop 1 tablespoon of butter in the center of each and sprinkle with brown sugar.
4. Place the pan under the broiler for 5 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle the squash with a little cinnamon.
