1. Cut off the stems from the beans, then cut the beans into 3-inch lengths.
2. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms, sprinkle with garlic salt, and sauté, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft.
3. Place an inch of water in the bottom of a pot, set a steamer basket on top, then add the beans. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pot and steam the beans 4 to 5 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
4. Transfer the beans to a bowl, top with the sautéed mushrooms, and serve.
