Combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix in milk or water to make a soft dough. Heat shortening in a large skillet over medium heat. Drop by spoonfuls; flatten to about 3/4-inch thick. Cook on both sides until nicely golden.
Tip: Toast sandwiches on a waffle iron instead of a griddle…kids will love 'em!
