* Use Basic French or Vinaigrette Dressing (see below) as a base for this vegetable salad variation. Basic French or Vinaigrette Dressing * In a small bowl, mix vinegar, salt, and pepper let stand 1 to 2 minutes to dissolve. Adding oil slowly, stir or whisk until well blended. Vinegar, salt, and pepper can be adjusted according to taste. Shake or stir before serving. Add 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons prepared mustard (Dijon is preferable) to basic dressing. Blend well.
