1. Less fat. Grains, legumes and vegetables have only small amounts of fat, unless fat is added in the preparation.
2. No cholesterol. There’s no cholesterol in plant foods.
3. More fiber. Complex carbohydrates such as grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables often are good sources of dietary fiber.
4. Healthful. A diet high in grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables and low in fat may help to decrease your chance of developing certain cancers and heart disease.
5. Inexpensive. Compared to many other foods, a meatless diet may cost less.
