Combine wafer crumbs with softened butter. Press into a 9-inch springform pan. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Turn ice cream into large bowl to soften. Stir crème de menthe into ice cream. Fill wafer shell with ice cream mixture and freeze.
Melt chocolate squares in cream over low heat. Add sugar and salt. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Stir until cooled. Let stand until cooled thoroughly.
When pie is frozen, spread chocolate sauce over top. Return to freezer until firm.
