1. Heat large skillet or griddle over medium heat (350°F.) until hot. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except French bread slices beat well. Dip each bread slice in egg mixture turn to coat both sides.
2. Lightly grease heated skillet. Place bread slices in skillet. Cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. If desired, sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
