Combine corn, egg, sugar, one tablespoon butter, salt and pepper. Add flour and baking powder; mix well. Heat remaining butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat; drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until golden.
