Remove stems and core apples, being certain all seeds and pockets are removed. Pare a thin area of skin from the blossom end of the apples. Set apples in an 8-inch baking pan. Mix together the currants or raisins, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, peanut butter and softened butter or margarine and stuff each apple cavity. Add 1/4 cup of water to bottom of pan. Bake in 375° oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Apples should be firm, not mushy. Serve with thick cream, if desired.
