Lemon Or Orange Sherbet w/Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

1 quart lemon sherbet or orange sherbet
1/2 cup coconut flaked toasted
1/2 cup almonds chopped, toasted
Chocolate sauce:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate 3 1-ounce pieces broken into bits
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup evaporated milk

Directions:

For sauce, combine sugar, water and corn syrup and cook to soft ball stage (236°). Remove from heat. Add chocolate and stir until melted. Add vanilla, then slowly add evaporated milk and mix thoroughly. Cool. This makes 1 3/4 cups sauce.

To serve, put a slice or 2 scoops of sherbet on each plate. Over this, drizzle chocolate sauce, sprinkle with toasted coconut and then toasted almonds.
