Southern Ambrosia

Ingredients

4 oranges large
1 (13-ounce) can pineapple tidbit
2 tablespoons orange liqueur or white rum or orange juice
4 bananas medium
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 (1 1/2-ounce) can coconut flaked
6 red maraschino cherries

Directions:

Peel oranges, removing white membrane at same time. Cut oranges crosswise into 1/8 -inch thick slices. Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Combine syrup and your choice of white rum, orange liqueur or orange juice and set aside. Peel bananas and cut diagonally into 1/8 -inch thick slices.

Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl, except the coconut flakes and cherries. Refrigerate until well chilled. Serve in individual dishes with coconut flakes and a cherry placed on each serving.
