1 head lettuce, bite-size
1 bunch leafy lettuce, bite-size
1 cup mandarin orange, drained
1 red onion, sliced in thin rings
1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds

Dressing:
2 1/2 tablespoons wine vinegar
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 1/2 tablespoons honey
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated onion
1/2 cup salad oil

Layer lettuce, oranges, and onion in bowl. Toss with Dressing. Sprinkle with toasted almonds.

Dressing:
Heat all ingredients, except oil, until sugar dissolves. Add oil. Chill before serving. Toss well.


Fun Fact: The Three Sisters are three volcanic peaks of the Cascade Range in Oregon, each of which exceeds 10,000 feet in elevation. They are the third, fourth, and fifth highest peaks in the state of Oregon (after Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson). The Sisters were named Faith, Hope, and Charity by early settlers.
