Pour milk into a large bowl. Add dry pudding mix, 2 tablespoons orange juice and nutmeg; whisk together for one minute. Gently fold in whipped topping; set aside. Slice cake horizontally into 4 layers. Sprinkle layers evenly with remaining orange juice; cut into one-inch cubes. Place half the cake cubes in a trifle bowl or large clear glass bowl. Top cubes with 2-1/2 cups strawberries and 2 tablespoons almonds. Spoon half the whipped topping mixture over berries and almonds. Layer remaining cake cubes and whipped topping. Garnish with reserved berries and almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Chocolate-dipped peppermint sticks are tasty take-home gifts for visiting friends. Arranged in a cello bag tied with red rick rack, these sweets will be a reminder of time spent together.
