Mincemeat Cake w/ Sauce

Ingredients

1 pint mincemeat
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses light
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Mix the above ingredients.
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon each nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice

Directions:

Add the dry ingredients to the mincemeat mixture, then add 1 cup nuts.

Bake in a sheet pan at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Sauce For Cake:
Combine 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 teaspoon each cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. Slowly stir in 1 cup boiling water, add 2 tablespoons butter, and cook over medium heat until thick. Serve warm over cake. If the whole cake is used double this recipe. Whipped cream or ice cream may be used in place of the sauce.
