Place brisket in a slow cooker; add water, onion, bay leaf and cloves. Cover and cook on high setting for 8 hours, or until meat is tender. Remove meat and discard contents of slow cooker; shred meat and return to slow cooker. Mix together remaining ingredients except buns and stir into meat. Reduce heat to low setting and heat through. Discard bay leaf; serve on toasted buns.
Tip: A trusty slow cooker is the secret to serving warm and comforting dinners even when you're away from home all day. Most of Mom's old recipes that call for long, low simmering or baking can be adapted to slow-cooker preparation…give it a try!
