Combine all ingredients except milk in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on high setting for 3 to 4 hours, or on low setting for 10 to 12 hours. Stir in milk during last hour of cooking.
Tip: Seal in the flavor of onions and other soup veggies…simply sauté them in a little oil before adding broth and other ingredients.
