Mix flour and coconut. Combine syrup, sugar, and margarine in heavy saucepan.Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; gradually blend in flour mixture, then vanilla. Drop onto foil-covered cookie sheets by scant teaspoonfuls, 3 inches apart. Bake at 350° for 8 -10 minutes. Cool on wire racks until foil peels off easily. Place cookies on absorbent paper (brown).
