Heat the oven to 325°F. Grease an 8-by-2-inch round cake pan with 1 teaspoon of the oil. Dust the interior with the breadcrumbs set aside.
Heat the remaining 2 teaspoons oil in a large skillet over medium heat add the onion and sauté until soft, stirring often do not brown. Stir in the prosciutto or ham.
Meanwhile, beat the herbed cream cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, salad dressing, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until smooth and completely blended, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Beat in the eggs just until incorporated. Fold in the onion mixture, and scrape the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until a tester inserted in the center comes out almost clean, about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Cool on a rack until the pan is cool enough to handle. Cover with plastic wrap and invert onto a platter remove the pan. Refrigerate until chilled through, at least 3 hours. Serve with crackers or toast.
