Country Beef Roast

Ingredients

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (3 to 5-pound) beef chuck roast
1 (1 1/2-ounce) package onion soup mix
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/4 cups water
6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 onions, sliced
4 carrots, peeled and sliced

Directions:

Shake flour in a large oven bag. Arrange bag in a roasting pan; place roast into bag. Mix together soup mix, mushroom soup and water; spread over roast. Close bag with nylon tie provided; cut six, 1/2-inch slits in top. Bake at 325 degrees for 3 to 4 hours, until roast is fork-tender. Add vegetables to bag; reclose bag and bake an additional hour. Serve with pan drippings as gravy.
