Betty Crocker on TV? In the early 1950s, Betty appeared on a weekly program that dramatized cooking problems drawn from letters she received. After a problem was spelled out, Betty would demonstrate a solution. The actress who portrayed Betty was Adelaide Hawley, who also had been Betty's voice on the radio. Due to Betty's popularity, celebrities were happy to appear on the show. In one episode, viewers watched as Betty taught Gracie Allen and George Burns how to bake a cake! Do you think they ever used the skills she taught them?
