Were you ever a Betty Crocker home recipe tester? As early as 1925, the Betty Crocker Kitchens started asking homemakers to help ensure the quality of recipes by testing them in their own homes. Later, visitors to the Betty Crocker Kitchens were asked to sign up, and some tested recipes for many years. Other home testers were recruited by marketing research firms to join the panel, which at one time was composed of about 2,000 testers. The home economists in the kitchens found the feedback from the testers to be very informative, and the program was active for almost sixty-five years.
