Cut pears in half peel and core set aside in lightly salted water to cover. In medium saucepan, combine butter (or margarine), brown sugar, corn syrup, and water. Simmer until smooth and blended. Add lemon juice. Place drained pear halves in syrup simmer a few minutes, until tender, spooning syrup over pears occasionally. Serve warm or cold.
Note: One can (29 ounces) pear halves may be used in place of fresh pears use pear syrup in place of water.
