Cream together butter (or margarine) and sugar. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with evaporated milk, beating after each addition. Fold in washed and drained cranberries. Pour into greased 8x8x2-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 25 to 30 minutes. In small saucepan, combine butter (no substitute), sugar, and cream. Bring to boil reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla (makes 1 cup). Serve warm pudding with hot butter sauce.
