Spark some good
discussions and create a lifelong love of reading

aloud to you while you're preparing dinner.

time
To spark imaginations, match dinner to the book you're reading. For a fish dinner, read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. Popcorn for a snack or dessert? Read The Popcorn Dragon by Jane Thayer.
Talk about everyone's favorite character or the most exciting part of the book. What are the scariest, saddest or happiest moments? Act out the favorite character in a fun game of charades.
Let each child take a turn telling his or her own ending to the story. You may be surprised with the creative changes to a story you all know well!
Start your own story and then have everyone add to it. The first person can begin with "once upon a time," then each family member continues the story. Decide how many rounds to go before you wrap up your tale.
