Soften gelatin in water heat over hot water until dissolved. Beat egg yolks, sugar, and salt add. Gradually add milk and cook on low until slightly thickened. Add softened gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add vanilla and chill. Whip cream. Beat egg whites and sugar until stiff. Mix egg whites with whipped cream and fold into gelatin mixture. Pour into mold and chill until set.
