1. In large saucepan, combine apples and water.* Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring occasionally.
2. Stir in sugar and candies mix well. Cook until mixture is thoroughly heated and candies are dissolved, stirring occasionally.
3. Ladle mixture into clean jar or moisture-vaporproof containers. Cool 15 minutes. Cover with tight-fitting lids. Store in refrigerator.
TIP: * For chunky applesauce, combine sugar and water. Add apples mix well. Cook as directed above.
