Cake:
Combine sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. At LOW speed add flour, salt, soda, and pineapple. Mix 1 minute. Pour into greased 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle mixture of brown sugar, coconut, and pecans on top. Bake at 350° for 30–35 minutes. Just before Cake is done, prepare Sauce.
Sauce:
Heat ingredients together and pour mixture over warm cake. Cool and serve with whipped cream topping.
